Digital X-rays
At The Smile Lounge we utilise state of the art digital x-rays, which is safer and more environmentally friendly.
Digital radiography is a form of x-ray imaging, where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Advantages include time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images. Also less radiation can be used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography.
At The Smile Lounge we can take small digital high definition x-rays, OPG (Orthopantomogram) and Lateral Cephalogram. The last two being large x-rays of your mouth, jaw and side profile of your face.
An OPG (orthopantogram) provides a wide angle view of the mouth, giving information on the teeth and the bones of the upper and lower jaw. A Cephalometry is used to obtain measurements of the structures of the face.
